SETUKI
Dubai’s New Shrine to Wagyu Excellence
Dubai’s dining landscape has never been short of ambitious concepts, but every so often a restaurant arrives with a singular vision rather than an extensive menu. Sutēki is one such destination. Nestled within Harbour House at Dubai Harbour, the contemporary Japanese restaurant is devoted almost entirely to one ingredient, wagyu, and elevates it into an immersive culinary experience inspired by Tokyo’s refined dining culture.
A Restaurant with a Singular Focus
Rather than attempting to showcase every facet of Japanese cuisine, Sutēki narrows its attention to what it does best: exceptional wagyu. The concept embraces the Japanese philosophy of precision and restraint, allowing the quality of the beef to take centre stage.
Created by AlphaMind Group, the hospitality company behind popular Dubai venues including Bar du Port, Café du Port, Iris and Son of a Fish, Sutēki offers a more intimate and ingredient-driven experience, pairing contemporary design with meticulous craftsmanship.
Tokyo Soul, Dubai Energy
Sutēki describes itself with the fitting motto, “Tokyo Soul. Dubai Heat.” The interiors balance moody sophistication with artistic expression, combining dark textures, curated artwork and warm lighting to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Tokyo’s modern dining scene while embracing Dubai’s vibrant hospitality.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Dubai Harbour add another layer to the experience, contrasting the dramatic interiors with tranquil waterfront views that make the restaurant equally suited for intimate dinners and celebratory evenings.
Wagyu Takes Centre Stage
The menu revolves around carefully sourced Australian and Japanese wagyu, prepared using techniques that highlight the meat’s natural marbling and depth of flavour.
Guests can choose from premium cuts including sirloin, fillet, bavette and ribeye, served with thoughtfully selected accompaniments such as kizami wasabi, homemade pear, apple and daikon pickles, sesame salt and chilli ponzu. Signature creations expand beyond classic steaks, featuring dishes like the Wagyu Steak Sando served on toasted milk bread, the Yakiniku Roll with seared foie gras, the Umami Sutēki, and the restaurant’s indulgent Sizzling Sutēki Cheeseburger, available on Thursdays. Complementary sides—from truffle fries to sautéed seasonal mushrooms and smashed baby potatoes—complete the experience without overshadowing the star ingredient.
