FROM BEIRUT TO HARRODS: PHILIP KHOURY’S VIRAL CHOCOLATE BRAND LANDS AT LONDON’S ICONIC FOOD HALL
What started as a heartfelt tribute to Beirut has become one of the most talked about artisan chocolate success stories of the year. On 15 July, chef Philip Khoury will launch Khoury’s at the prestigious Harrods Chocolate Hall, marking a major milestone just one year after founding the company.
The launch is particularly symbolic, as Khoury returns to the iconic department store where he spent six years as Head Pastry Chef, this time as the founder of his own chocolate brand.
A Love Letter to Beirut
Khoury’s journey began with the now famous Beirut Bar, originally created for a charity fundraiser supporting young people affected by the conflict in Lebanon.
Inspired by the city’s resilience and rich culinary heritage, the bar combines orange blossom caramel with cashew baklava crunch. It quickly went viral across the Middle East, generating millions of views and repeatedly selling out, ultimately inspiring the launch of Khoury’s in July 2025.
A Collection Inspired by Great Cities
Exclusively for Harrods, Khoury’s presents its City Series, a collection of six chocolate bars, each celebrating the flavours of a different destination:
- Beirut: Orange blossom caramel and cashew baklava crunch
- London: Earl Grey and biscuits
- New York: Apple pie
- Paris: Crunchy hazelnut praline and caramel
- Doha: Cardamom coffee and dates
- Oaxaca: Corn, cinnamon and cacao
Each bar tells the story of a city through carefully selected ingredients and contemporary craftsmanship.
A World First in Chocolate Innovation
Alongside the chocolate bars, Harrods will also stock Khoury’s innovative range of chocolate coated nuts.
Each variety is coated in chocolate made from the nut itself, from almonds coated in almond chocolate to pistachios coated in pistachio chocolate and hazelnuts coated in hazelnut chocolate. Crafted using just four natural ingredients, the collection reflects the brand’s commitment to clean label ingredients and artisan techniques.
A Full Circle Moment
The Harrods launch represents a defining moment for Philip Khoury. Returning to the department store where he built much of his career, he now does so with a brand recognised for its creativity, sustainability and distinctive flavour combinations.
For Lebanese food lovers, it is also a proud milestone, as the chocolate bar that began as a tribute to Beirut now takes its place in one of the world’s most prestigious food halls.
