50 Years of Flavor and Legacy at Boubouffe Brasserie
For 50 years, Boubouffe Brasserie has delighted guests with exceptional cuisine, warm hospitality, and unforgettable experiences. This golden anniversary celebrates its legacy of flavor, community, and timeless tradition.
On 16th February 1976, the concept of the ‘Lebanese Brasserie’ was born in the heart of Achrafieh, Beirut. BouBouffe Lebanese Brasserie became the first dining establishment in the area, earning a reputation for high-quality products and fresh local ingredients.
Michel Aramouni, the visionary behind BouBouffe, blended traditional Lebanese cuisine with international influences. The brasserie’s name, derived from the French word ‘bouffe’ meaning ‘food,’ reflects the cultural ties between Achrafieh and French culinary traditions.
A Legacy of Community and Taste
From humble beginnings serving shawarma, manakeesh, and French-style steak with handcut fries, BouBouffe quickly became a local icon. Over time, the menu expanded to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring authentic Lebanese dishes alongside international specialties. Homemade daily dishes and charcoal-grilled shawarma cemented its reputation.
During the Lebanese Civil War, BouBouffe played a vital role in bringing the community together. Locals and even politicians appreciated the warmth, quality, and spirit behind Michel’s vision. The brasserie became more than a restaurant, it was a meeting point, a symbol of unity, and a beacon of hope.
The Next Chapter
As Boubouffe Brasserie steps into its next decade, one thing remains unchanged: its commitment to exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and unforgettable experiences. Here’s to 50 remarkable years, and to many more evenings filled with laughter, flavor, and celebration.
