BAKED STUFFED TOMATOES WITH MINCED MEAT AND GRUYÈRE
Serves 6 | Prep/cooking 60 min

INGREDIENTS |
- 12 tomatoes, washed and cored
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 ½ cups rice, washed and cooked
- 1 ½ cups minced meat
- 3 tbsp butter
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 100 g Gruyère cheese, grated
- Dried thyme, for garnish
PREPARATION |
- In a pan over low heat, cook the minced meat until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and butter, and continue cooking until the onions are soft and fragrant.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Stir in the cooked rice and mix well.
- Stuff each tomato with the rice and meat mixture.
- Top with grated Gruyère cheese.
- Place the stuffed tomatoes in a baking dish and bake in a preheated hot oven (around 180–200°C / 350–400°F) until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Garnish with dried thyme and serve hot.
